Ain’t No Mountain High Enough for the Chevrolet Bolt EV

The 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV has driving range of almost 500km plus which is ground breaking as far as electric vehicles are concerned. At the 2019 Electric Vehicle Road Trip Event (EVRT) the Chevrolet Bolt EV proved that it can take on any road that the region has to offer.

The 2019 Electric Vehicle Road Trip (EVRT) was a eight day event covering up to 2,000 kilometers. The road trip began from Abu Dhabi going through Muscat and ended in Dubai via Ras Al-Khaimah. The Chevrolet Bolt EV breezed through the road trip easily. However, the true test lied within the end of the road trip with the tricky snake like roads of the Jebel Jais mountains.

With a height of 1,934m above sea level, the roads of Jebel Jais can be demanding of any vehicle. But the 360Nm of torque the Bolt EVhad played a huge role in taking on the great height that Jebel Jais has to offer. The Chevrolet Bolt EV tackled all the corners with ease since it has a low center of gravity due to the batteries that are packed under the floor pan.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV showed no signs of slowing down, unlike a petrol engine which loses some power as the altitude increases and oxygen level decreases.

On it's way back, since everything was downhill, the Chevrolet Bolt EV regenerative systems were able to recover about 94 kilometers of battery charge just through braking.

Not to mention, how the Chevrolet Bolt EV one-pedal driving feature offered an experience unlike any other vehicle.
